BIMHUIS Amsterdam
The Prime Stage for World-Class Jazz
BIMHUIS is one of the Netherlands’ most iconic music venues, known for bringing together groundbreaking jazz, global sounds, and cultural exchange. On behalf of Eagerly, I worked on the redesign of the BIMHUIS website, creating a digital experience that feels as bold and dynamic as the music itself.
Approach
The redesign began with a clear vision to create a digital stage that captures the energy, rhythm, and personality of BIMHUIS. The venue already had a rich collection of striking artist photography that beautifully portrayed the musicians and their individuality. The goal was to let these portraits take center stage, allowing the artists themselves to shape the visual rhythm of the site. Around this expressive imagery, we built a modern, immersive design that feels alive and in tune with the music.
Artist Pages
Every artist who performs at BIMHUIS brings their own story, mood, and sound. The idea was to give each artist their own little world within the site. By combining bold photography with large, expressive typography, each detail page becomes an individual experience, an extension of the artist’s performance.

Accessibility & Responsiveness
An important part of the redesign was improving accessibility and responsiveness. The new design adapts seamlessly across all devices and ensures that every visitor can explore the agenda, buy tickets, and enjoy content effortlessly. Clear hierarchy, color contrast, and typographic balance make the experience both elegant and inclusive.

Radio & TV
BIMHUIS also offers Radio & TV, an archive where visitors can rewatch concerts and discover new performances. The goal was to create an experience that feels familiar and intuitive, something between SoundCloud and YouTube, where users can watch or listen while continuing to browse the site. It brings the live atmosphere of BIMHUIS into the digital space, making the platform feel alive even when the stage lights are off.
